How is my work different?
I practice Functional Nutrition in the field of Integrative Health.
Clinically, I assess cellular function and the interconnectedness of every system in an individual’s body. I conduct a thorough, whole-person assessment, review and order lab work, perform a complete nutrition-focused physical exam, tailor dietary intake for personal needs, communicate with and/or refer to other practitioners when appropriate, research & recommend appropriate supplements, and regularly evaluate nutrition changes.
Define Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS).
Like a Registered Dietician, my background includes biochemistry of nutrition pathways & nutrient metabolism, anatomy & physiology, nutrition through the life cycles, drug-nutrient interactions, nutrigenetics, scientific evidence-based nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy & counseling.
However, rather than work in a clinical setting (hospitals or public health institutions), I work in private practice and focus on prevention, delay & reversal of chronic disease through diet and lifestyle change.
Benefits of working with me.
I would like to be your nutritionist for life, just as you have a primary care physician, acupuncturist or massage therapist. While science forms the basis for my understanding of nutrition, when formulating recommendations I consider physical, mental, emotional & spiritual wellness, as well as personality, habits and personal stories. I invite my clients to guide their own intervention plan.
My work is client-focused. I meet you where you are and I help you get to the core of your body's needs…
